Goals & Progress

Below we'll be discussing the progress our team has made on the game so far this semester. For this semester we are working with a one-week sprint structure. We'll cover the fourth sprint and what we've done, what we plan to do in the future, what went wrong, and what we're fixing going forward.

Progress

Art & Technical Art

The team made some progress on the main feature of the character's design - their coak. Color revisions were discussed as well as style for what the character would be wearing under the cloak. We also met up to get references for how we wanted to sword animation to look. Progress was made on smart materials, texturing enemies, and 3D environmental assets.

Design

This week the design team's focus was on creating a move set for the player character as well as getting animation references for it to the animation team. The combo system was also updated and expanded. It now has added jumping and dashing attacks as well as secondary attacks if a player holds a button instead of only tapping it.

Programming

We added the health and mana systems to the game, as well as their associated UI elements. The enemy class was expanded on to better include the types of enemies we would have in the final game. The camera system was updated to better reflect the viewpoint originally discussed at the start of the project.


Setbacks

  • Collectively we had a lot of homework

  • Scheduling classes for next semester

  • Large project for a class most of us are in was due
